Gretchen Nealon studied violin with the former principal violinist of the London Philharmonic.  She continued on to earn her bachelor's degree in music and then taught orchestra and band at a middle school in North Carolina before moving into private instruction.  She has had experience both playing and teaching viola, cello, and bass.

Gretchen uses a number of resources while teaching strings, emphasizing the ability to play flexibly and accurately, both alone and in an orchestra, through exposure to many different pieces and types of music.
